The Amazon Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device is a one of a kind Reader which everyone would like to own. The Reader has 9.7inch display area which is much bigger that compared to the new Sony Reader. The Amazon Kindle DX offer a free 3G wireless connectivity which lets you download books right on the Kindle DX, anytime without the need of a computer.
The Amazon book store also boasts to have a collection of 360000 books, newspapers and magazines. The Kindle DX supports (AZW), PDF, TXT and unprotected MOBI, PRC natively; HTML, DOC, RTF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP through conversion.
Also the Amazon kindle has stereo headphone socket, integrated stereo speakers which allow you to listen to the songs via Headphones or speakers while reading. The Kindle DX also offers text to speech feature, if you get tired of reading a book you can just listen to it. Using the Amazon Kindle DX you can also listen to Audiobooks downloaded from audible.com. This feature is not available on the Sony reader as the Sony Reader does not support secured audio file format.
The Kindle DX has a built-in New Oxford American Dictionary which allows you to lookup the word without interrupting your reading. The Kindle DX has a built-in Memory of 4GB and can hold up to 3500 books. The Amazon Kindle DX does not have a external Memory Slot, so you may not be able to transfer larger files. The Amazon Kindle also offers access to the up-to-date encyclopedia–Wikipedia.org.
The Amazon Store boasts of having 300,000 books and counting. If you’re an avid reader and do not care about the price of the books then I suggest you go for the Sony reader digital book. However, if you wish to have large display screen with a built-in stereo speaker and more features than any other reader then I suggest you go for the Amazon Kindle DX.
