| The Middle East And Africa Are Targets Of One Laptop Per Child |
Posted by the editor on May 29th, 2010
It is predicted that 30 million laptops will be delivered to Africa by the year 2015. The group that is responsible for this latest change is One Laptop Per Child and this is the expected plan of delivery that is being predicted. Not only will computers be delivered to East Africa, but also the Middle East is on the list and laptops will also be delivered to this area where there is the greatest need.
The group has recently propositioned President Obama for money assistance to help their efforts with this large goal. This group needs to partner with many different sorts of agencies to help make their goal a reality and they are constantly seeking funds to help with this project.
It has become increasingly difficult of OLPC to sell this idea around the world and the original idea was to have each government involved in purchasing these computers, but it was very difficult to find countries that would purchase these computers in a large quantity and this is why the organization has taken it upon themselves to purchase and deliver these computers to the students that need them the most.
There efforts have already made a big difference and students now have access to a computer that they would not have otherwise with the help of One Laptop Per Child. This is making a big difference in the way that children from impoverished countries receive their education. When OLPC is done, it plans to make laptops as available as other resources that people use on a daily basis.
